Review of the Schecter Omen Extreme 6 BCH
Having played the Schecter Omen Extreme 6 BCH for some time now, I can confidently say that this guitar offers exceptional value for its price. The build quality is impressive, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship, from the flawless finish to the well-polished frets. The aesthetic appeal is undeniable, with the beautiful black cherry finish and striking inlays that make it a standout instrument.
The sound versatility is one of the guitar’s key features, thanks to its split coil alnico pickups. This allows for a wide range of tones, from aggressive metal sounds to clear, crisp cleans. The ability to switch between humbucker and single-coil modes opens up a multitude of sonic possibilities, making it suitable for various genres, including rock, blues, and metal. The pickups deliver a powerful output, although they may feel a bit muddy at times, particularly when not pushed into higher gain settings.
The neck is another highlight of the Omen Extreme. It is fast and comfortable, albeit slightly wider than some may prefer, which could take a bit of getting used to. The action can be adjusted to suit your playing style, and while it may come from the factory set a bit high, it is easily manageable. The guitar’s lightweight design and excellent balance make it a joy to play, whether standing or seated.
While there are some minor quirks, such as the tone pot feeling a bit loose and some wiring issues with the pickups, these do not detract significantly from the overall experience. With a little bit of setup, the Omen Extreme can shine in both performance and aesthetics.
In conclusion, the Schecter Omen Extreme 6 BCH is a fantastic option for both novice and experienced players alike. Its combination of quality, sound versatility, and striking appearance makes it a worthy addition to any guitarist’s collection. For those seeking an affordable yet high-performing guitar, I highly recommend giving this one a try.
