Customer Review Summary
The Schecter Diamond Omen 7 Extreme BCH is an impressively crafted guitar that offers exceptional value for its price. With its attractive cherry quilt top finish and elegant design, it looks more expensive than it is. The playability is excellent, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced players. The neck is comfortable, and despite the wider fretboard, transitioning from a 6-string is relatively easy.
The guitar features a string-through-body design which provides remarkable sustain and tonal clarity. The stock pickups, while decent for the price, can be a bit harsh and may lack some definition; however, they deliver a good sound, especially for heavier genres. The coil-split option adds versatility, allowing for a range of tones from clean to distorted, which is a significant advantage for players exploring different styles.
Despite some minor issues, such as a slightly loose tone knob and the need for minor adjustments to the action, the overall build quality is solid. The guitar stays in tune well, even with lower tunings, and the hardware functions reliably. Many recommend upgrading the pickups for enhanced performance, particularly for those who play high-gain styles.
In summary, the Schecter Diamond Omen 7 Extreme BCH is a fantastic entry-level 7-string guitar that combines quality materials, attractive aesthetics, and a versatile sound, making it a smart choice for anyone looking to dive into the world of extended range guitars without breaking the bank.
