Customer Review Summary
The Squier Tele Custom Baritone BK is a beautifully crafted guitar that impresses with its aesthetics and sound quality. The elegant black finish, combined with clean binding and a polished body, gives it a luxurious feel. The 22 frets are well-executed, providing a smooth playing experience without any buzzing.
The neck, featuring a 9.5-inch radius and a Tusq nut, is comfortable to play, accommodating heavier string gauges well. Although the hardware is simple, it performs effectively, and the guitar emits a surprising range of tones, showcasing clear differences between bass and treble. The tone pot is functional, enhancing the overall sound quality.
While it may not be suited for aggressive metal tones, it excels in clean and airy sounds, making it a delight to play. With a price point around £400, it offers excellent value for those seeking a solid baritone guitar. The instrument’s playability is commendable, and it delivers a sense of a high-end instrument without the associated cost.
Some minor adjustments may be necessary upon arrival, such as intonation and neck relief, but these are manageable for those familiar with guitar setup. The guitar feels well-balanced and comfortable, although there may be a slight neck dive when standing. Upgrading components like the pickups and tuners could enhance performance, particularly the neck pickup, which may feel a bit weak compared to the bridge.
Overall, the Squier Tele Custom Baritone BK is a fantastic option for anyone looking to explore baritone guitars without breaking the bank. It combines stunning looks, solid craftsmanship, and a versatile sound, making it a worthy addition to any guitarist’s collection.
