Customer Review Summary
The Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII LPB is an intriguing 12-string electric guitar that offers a unique blend of sound and playability at an attractive price point. Right out of the box, it comes well set up with good action, making it easy to play despite the additional strings. The finish in Lake Placid Blue is visually striking, and the overall build quality is commendable, showing no significant differences when compared to higher-end models.
The guitar delivers a pleasant tone, particularly when paired with effects like chorus and reverb, which enhance its sonic character. However, some players have noted that the sound might lack the brilliance typically associated with 12-string guitars, partly due to the P90 pickups that can sound a bit muddy. Adjusting the pickup height can yield some improvement, and for those looking for greater tonal variety, replacing the pickups with single-coil alternatives has been suggested.
Despite its few shortcomings, the Jazzmaster XII provides a fantastic platform for those looking to explore 12-string sounds without the hefty price tag of premium models. It’s particularly well-suited for clean rhythm work and can inspire creativity in arrangements. Players who appreciate the charm of 12-string guitars will find this model to be a worthy addition to their collection, especially for casual home use or songwriting sessions.
In summary, for anyone interested in venturing into the world of 12-string electric guitars, the Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII LPB is highly recommended. Its combination of affordability, good playability, and distinctive sound make it a solid choice for both beginners and seasoned musicians alike.
