Customer Review Summary

Solar Guitars A2.6 FR LN Review

This eye-catching neon yellow guitar has quickly become my daily player since it arrived about a week ago. As my most expensive guitar to date, I find myself particularly enthusiastic about its features, which stand out compared to my previous, more affordable instruments.

Neck and Frets: The neck is slim and comfortable, with perfectly polished frets that have no sharp edges. There are no dead spots, and the fret heights are consistent. The neck-through construction and deep horn cutaways make reaching the higher frets effortless.

Pickups and Sound: The DuncanSolar humbuckers deliver a powerful output, producing an impressive metal sound in both standard E and drop D tunings. The bridge pickup offers significant punch without muddiness, although it may lack some character compared to a Seymour Duncan Blackwinter pickup I have in another guitar. The coil-split feature is a delightful surprise, allowing for clear individual pickup tones in the clean channel.

Colour and Finish: The finish is strikingly bright and UV-reactive, with the neon green-yellow popping out under natural light. The black hardware and ebony fretboard create a stunning contrast that makes the guitar visually appealing. While there are minor imperfections, such as a small chip near the 5-way switch and a slight edge in the finish around the 18th to 22nd frets, overall, the finish quality is excellent.

Tuning Stability: Initially, I experienced some tuning issues with the Floyd Rose system during deep dives, but this has improved significantly over time. It seems the strings just needed time to settle. Now, even after aggressive playing, the guitar holds its tune well.

Overall, I am thrilled with this guitar. It is beautifully crafted, comfortable to play, and produces a powerful sound that can easily handle various music genres. Although I plan to replace the pickups for an even heavier tone, the current ones are versatile and capable. For its price point, this guitar offers exceptional value and quality.

In conclusion, the Solar Guitars A2.6 FR LN impresses with its construction, sound, and stunning appearance. It is truly a remarkable instrument that I wholeheartedly recommend!
