Customer Review Summary
The Harley Benton Electric Guitar Kit Extreme-84 offers a unique blend of quality and creativity for those looking to build their own instrument. Upon arrival, the kit is well-packaged, ensuring that all components reach you without damage.
The assembly process is straightforward and enjoyable, taking only a few hours to complete. Most users report that the materials fit together well, with precise drilling and a clean finish on the body. While the assembly instructions are primarily in German, an English version is available online, though it could benefit from clearer diagrams and colour coding, especially regarding wiring.
Many find the wood grain aesthetically pleasing, often opting not to paint over it. The guitar is lightweight yet feels solid, and the neck is generally comfortable to play. However, some users have noted that the guitar is prone to neck dive, which can be mitigated with adjustments.
Sound-wise, the pickups provide a decent tone, particularly for high-gain settings, although some grounding issues have been reported. This can lead to buzzing, especially with clean tones, but using quality cables can help alleviate this. While the stock pickups are acceptable, upgrading them is a common recommendation for those seeking better performance.
Despite some minor drawbacks, such as sharp fret edges and the need for occasional hardware upgrades, the overall consensus is that this kit is an excellent choice for beginner to intermediate players. It provides a rewarding building experience, resulting in a unique instrument tailored to the owner’s preferences. Many users express satisfaction with their final product, making it a worthwhile investment for those eager to dive into guitar construction.
In summary, the Harley Benton Electric Guitar Kit Extreme-84 is a fun and fulfilling project that yields a playable guitar, perfect for those who enjoy hands-on creativity.
