Customer Review Summary

Ibanez GRGM21M-BLT Review

The Ibanez GRGM21M-BLT is a strikingly designed guitar that immediately appeals to both young players and their parents. Its cool aesthetics are matched by decent build quality, making it an attractive option for beginners.

However, to achieve optimal playability, some adjustments are necessary. The guitar is initially equipped with lower-quality 9-gauge strings that don’t provide sufficient tension, leading to some buzzing. Upgrading to a higher-quality set, such as D’Addario EXL110, can significantly improve the neck’s setup.

Out of the box, the intonation and action may require tweaking, as the string height is set quite low for easy playability, which can affect sound quality due to string buzzing. Fortunately, these adjustments can be made using the bridge’s screws.

The humbuckers deliver a surprisingly rich sound for a guitar at this price point, and the 5-way pickup selector allows for a variety of tones, including single-coil options, making it versatile enough for different musical styles.

Overall, the Ibanez GRGM21M-BLT is a fantastic choice for younger players. It’s lightweight, well-balanced, and features a short scale length that accommodates smaller hands. The build quality is commendable, with no sharp edges and well-crafted frets, making it comfortable to play.
