Customer Review Summary
Harley Benton ST-20HSS SB Standard Series is an impressive electric guitar that stands out as an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced players. As my first electric instrument, I was pleasantly surprised by its versatility and sound quality, especially considering its affordable price. The HSS pickup configuration allows for a wide range of tones, making it suitable for various music styles including rock, blues, and funk.
The build quality is commendable, with a beautiful finish and well-placed frets, contributing to a comfortable playing experience. Most users note that the guitar comes well set up right out of the box, although some minor adjustments may be needed to optimise the action and intonation. While there are some cosmetic imperfections and a few sharp fret edges, these do not detract significantly from the overall performance.
Sound-wise, the humbucker offers a rich tone, while the single coils provide clarity, although they may not be as powerful as higher-end models. Despite this, they perform adequately across genres. The guitar holds tuning reasonably well, though some players have reported that the tuners could be improved for better stability during vigorous playing.
In conclusion, the Harley Benton ST-20HSS SB is a fantastic instrument that provides remarkable value for money. It is a solid option for those looking to explore electric guitar without a hefty investment. Whether for practice, live performances, or simply to enjoy playing, this guitar is highly recommended for its quality and affordability.
