Schecter Synyster Gates Custom S Gloss Review: Under the microscope

Customer Review Summary

The Schecter Synyster Gates Custom S Gloss is an exceptional guitar that truly stands out in both aesthetics and performance.

The unique shape gives it a distinctive look, and the headstock design is particularly striking, although some may prefer different motifs instead of the “SYN” lettering. The sound quality is impressive, delivering a powerful tone that excels in metal genres, with deep and precise low-end notes perfect for riffs reminiscent of bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium.

The playability is enhanced by the finely crafted neck, which is both slim and comfortable, allowing for easy access to higher frets. The Floyd Rose tremolo system is of high quality and adds to the fun of playing, although newcomers may need to do a bit of research to fully utilise its capabilities. The Sustainiac feature offers an exciting way to explore sound dynamics, though it can sometimes favour the lower strings over the highs when playing chords.

This guitar is undoubtedly aimed at more experienced players, particularly those who enjoy solos and intricate playing styles. It is a robust instrument with a solid build, making it a reliable choice for live performances.

In summary, the Schecter Synyster Gates Custom S Gloss combines striking design with exceptional sound quality and playability, making it a must-have for metal enthusiasts.
