Customer Review Summary
The Yamaha Revstar RSS20 Sunset Burst is an exceptional guitar that truly impresses with its aesthetics and functionality. Upon arrival, the stunning sunrise burst finish is even more captivating than in photographs, showcasing rich, deep colours that inspire you to play more. The overall craftsmanship is flawless, with excellent fretwork that ensures smooth playability, free from buzzing or high frets.
The guitar feels well-balanced and comfortable to hold, whether standing or sitting, and while it is slightly larger than previous models, it remains lightweight due to its chambered body. The updated electronics are a highlight, particularly the five-way pickup selector and booster function, which significantly enhance tonal versatility. The medium output pickups deliver expressive sounds that suit a variety of genres, from jazz to rock, making it a versatile instrument.
However, some minor issues include the non-locking tuners, which could be improved for better tuning stability. The intonation was slightly off initially but easily adjustable. The neck, featuring carbon reinforcements, contributes to impressive sustain, while the satin finish ensures a comfortable playing experience.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Revstar RSS20 offers exceptional value for money, combining unique design elements with high-quality components. It’s an ideal choice for musicians seeking a beautiful, versatile guitar that performs admirably across different styles. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this guitar to anyone looking to expand their collection or try something new.
