Squier Affinity Strat FM HSS SS Review: A smart purchase?

Customer Review Summary

The Squier Affinity Strat FM HSS SS is an impressive instrument that delivers exceptional quality for its price. With a straight neck and well-finished fretboard edges, it feels comfortable and easy to play, making it an ideal choice for both beginners and more experienced guitarists.

Many users have praised its sound, which captures the classic Stratocaster tones, especially from the single-coil pickups. The HSS configuration provides versatility, allowing for crisp clean sounds and a punchy tone from the humbucker at the bridge. While some may find the humbucker lacks the expected depth, it still offers a good range of sounds suitable for various music styles.

Visually, the guitar is striking with a beautiful finish that showcases the wood grain, although some have noted that the knobs could be improved in appearance. The overall build quality is commendable, with no significant mechanical issues reported. However, minor adjustments, such as lowering the action, may be necessary for optimal playability.

One common point of feedback is that the guitar can go out of tune when using the tremolo arm, suggesting that upgrades to certain components could enhance performance. Despite this, the Squier Affinity remains a reliable option for home practice and live performances alike.

In summary, the Squier Affinity Strat FM HSS SS is highly recommended for its great playability, attractive aesthetics, and versatile sound, making it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy an affordable yet quality guitar.
