Squier Affinity Strat MN LPB Review: Features explained

Customer Review Summary

The Squier Affinity Strat MN LPB is an impressive entry-level guitar that has garnered a significant amount of praise for its overall quality and playability. Right out of the box, it is playable after tuning, showcasing a beautiful Lake Placid Blue finish that is both eye-catching and well-executed. The ceramic pickups deliver a clear sound, making it versatile enough for various genres from blues to heavy rock.

The construction is solid, with a nicely finished maple neck and a comfortable feel, although some users noted that the frets may require polishing due to sharp edges. The two-point tremolo system can be adjusted with the included tools, but some may find it necessary to replace or modify components for optimal performance. The weight of the guitar is also a plus, making it suitable for younger players or those who prefer a lighter instrument.

However, there are a few areas that could benefit from attention. The tremolo system is noted to be somewhat weak for heavier string gauges, and the lack of a full-size body may disappoint those looking for a more robust instrument. Additionally, some users experienced minor issues with tuning stability, which can often be resolved with proper setup and string maintenance.

In summary, the Squier Affinity Strat MN LPB offers excellent value for its price, providing a good balance of aesthetics, sound quality, and playability. It is particularly recommended for beginners, while more experienced players might find it a solid platform for upgrades and modifications. Overall, this guitar is a strong contender in its category and a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to start their musical journey.
