Product Review: Harley Benton Amarok-BT BKRD Quilted Burst
As a first-time owner of a Harley Benton guitar, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Amarok-BT. The craftsmanship is commendable, with clean fretwork and solid locking tuners that hold tuning fairly well. The woodwork is impressive for a guitar in this price range, and the stunning Black Red Quilted Burst finish is even more striking in person.
However, there are some drawbacks. The EMG pickups, although functional, are manufactured in Indonesia, and some users report issues with the bridge pickup being faulty out of the box, resulting in unwanted noise. The volume and tone knobs, along with the toggle switch, feel somewhat cheap and could be improved. Additionally, the truss rod adjustment tool provided does not fit properly, which can be frustrating.
In terms of sound, the guitar excels in producing powerful tones, especially suited for heavier music styles. It handles downtuning well, making it a good choice for metal enthusiasts. The guitar is comfortable to play, and the neck-thru construction adds to its playability. While some adjustments may be necessary for personal preference, the overall setup is quite good right out of the box.
Despite minor cosmetic imperfections and some issues with the input jack, this guitar offers an incredible value for its price. For anyone seeking an affordable baritone guitar with solid features and a stunning appearance, the Harley Benton Amarok-BT BKRD is a fantastic option.
