Customer Review Summary

I recently acquired the Gibson SG Standard Trans. Teal, and I must say, it’s an absolute delight. The transparent teal finish is stunning, showcasing beautiful colour variations that shift between green and blue depending on the light. It’s a refreshing change from the typical red or black SGs, and it truly stands out.

Upon receiving the guitar, I was pleased to find that the setup was quite satisfactory. The sound is rich and powerful, perfectly capturing that iconic rock tone reminiscent of classic bands. The pickups perform admirably, making it suitable for a wide range of musical styles, despite my preference for higher output pickups.

The playability of this guitar is exceptional. It’s incredibly lightweight and comfortable to play, whether sitting or standing, allowing for effortless access to the higher frets. However, I did notice that the frets are somewhat lower than I expected, which made bending a bit uncomfortable for me. This could be a consideration for those who prioritise higher fret profiles.

In terms of build quality, I found no issues with scratches or defects; it feels robust and well-crafted overall. The only downside I’ve encountered is the knobs, which feel a bit loose when turned, but this is a minor quibble since they are typically left on the same settings.

Overall, this Gibson SG Standard Trans. Teal has exceeded my expectations, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best guitar purchases I’ve made. If you’re in the market for a high-quality, visually striking instrument that plays and sounds fantastic, I highly recommend this model.
