Fender Clapton Strat Signature OW Review
After extensive research into various Stratocaster models, I settled on the Clapton Signature, and I must say, it has been a rewarding choice. The Olympic White finish is visually appealing, although the pickguard feels a bit cheap and could be improved. Nevertheless, the overall quality of the guitar is impressive.
The tuning stability is remarkable, largely thanks to the excellent machine heads and the factory-blocked vibrato. When it comes to sound, this guitar truly shines. The noiseless pickups deliver an outstanding tonal range, allowing for a versatility that covers everything from heavy tones to bright, clear sounds. The mid-boost feature is particularly advantageous, enhancing the overall sonic character and making it suitable for various music styles.
However, the potentiometers require a bit of adjustment to get used to, as their response isn’t entirely linear. The neck, with its V profile, might take some getting accustomed to, but it ultimately offers great playability. The guitar is well-crafted, and the inclusion of a tweed case adds a touch of class.
There are some points of contention regarding the vintage-style features, such as the non-locking Kluson tuners and the single-ply pickguard, which may not meet everyone’s expectations for a high-end instrument at this price point. That said, the active electronics paired with the noiseless pickups and mid-boost functionality provide a modern edge that many players will appreciate.
In conclusion, the Fender Clapton Strat Signature is an incredibly versatile instrument that excels in both performance and aesthetics. It captures the essence of Clapton’s sound while offering a comfortable playing experience. Although there are minor drawbacks, they do not overshadow the overall excellence of this guitar.
