Customer Review Summary
The Gibson Kirk Hammett “Greeny” LP Std. is a guitar that evokes mixed feelings among players. While many appreciate its stunning aesthetics and unique sound, others express disappointment regarding the quality control.
On one hand, the instrument is noted for its exceptional sound, rich character, and versatility of the pickups, which are reported to be cleaner and more powerful than typical models. The neck profile strikes a satisfying balance, providing comfort for extended play. Many players find the guitar to be a worthy addition to their collection, especially for those seeking the tones associated with legendary players like Peter Green and Gary Moore.
However, there are significant concerns regarding the craftsmanship. Some users have reported receiving guitars with poorly finished frets that lack proper leveling and polishing, leading to discomfort during play. Additionally, issues with the binding have been highlighted, with some describing it as sharp and unpleasant, detracting from the overall playing experience.
Despite these flaws, many still believe that the overall quality of the instrument justifies its price, as the sound and playability can be outstanding. Nevertheless, for a guitar in this price range, expectations for flawless construction and finish are understandably high.
In summary, while the Gibson Kirk Hammett “Greeny” LP Std. offers remarkable sound and playability, potential buyers should be aware of the quality control issues that have been reported.
