Review of the EVH Wolfgang Special Stealth
The EVH Wolfgang Special Stealth is an outstanding guitar that impresses with its quality and sound. From the moment I picked it up, I was struck by the sleek matte finish, which not only looks great but also feels solid and well-crafted. The neck profile is a dream to play, being both comfortable and fast, making it suitable for various playing styles.
In terms of sound, the pickups are exceptional, providing a versatile range from clean tones to heavy distortion. They retain clarity even when pushed to high gain, with the neck pickup offering warm, full-bodied leads reminiscent of classic humbucking tones. The bridge pickup delivers a sharp, articulate sound that cuts through the mix beautifully. The Floyd Rose tremolo system works flawlessly, maintaining tuning stability even after extensive use, and the D-Tuna feature is incredibly useful for quick tuning changes.
While the overall craftsmanship is impressive, there are a few minor drawbacks. Some have noted issues with the finishing touches, such as the fret edges not being polished perfectly, which could potentially snag fingers during play. Additionally, the volume knob is quite sensitive, easily adjusting with the slightest touch, which might be inconvenient in the heat of performance.
Despite these small concerns, the guitar excels in playability and sound quality, making it a fantastic choice for hard rock and metal genres. The compact design makes it easy to handle, and it feels well-balanced in hand. Overall, the EVH Wolfgang Special Stealth offers excellent value for money, delivering a premium playing experience that would satisfy both amateur and professional guitarists alike.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a high-quality instrument that performs superbly across a range of styles. Its combination of aesthetics, playability, and sound makes it a worthy addition to any player’s collection.
