Customer Review Summary
The Epiphone Noel Gallagher Riviera is a stunning guitar that has truly impressed me. With its gorgeous deep wine red finish, it looks more like a premium model than an instrument priced under £1,000. The craftsmanship is commendable, and it feels well-made, resting comfortably in my hands without being too heavy or too light.
The sound quality is exceptional, producing a rich tone that ranges from clean sounds to heavy distortion. The Alnico classic pickups have a vintage appeal, closely resembling the tonal characteristics of higher-end models, and I find them preferable over the modern coil-splittable options available on other Epiphone guitars. The sound is versatile enough to handle a variety of genres, making it a joy to play.
Upon receiving the guitar, the set-up was quite good out of the box, with a solid action and no dead notes. However, I did notice some minor imperfections, particularly with the fret finishing, which could benefit from a visit to a luthier for optimal playability. The mechanics could also use an upgrade, as they feel a bit stiff and imprecise, so I replaced them with Gotoh tuners for a more reliable tuning experience.
In terms of value for money, this guitar stands tall against its competitors, despite its slightly higher price tag. The included hard case is of remarkable quality and adds to the overall appeal. If you’re looking for a semi-hollow guitar that combines aesthetic beauty with excellent sound quality, the Epiphone Noel Gallagher Riviera is a fantastic choice. It’s a guitar that not only suits Oasis fans but any musician seeking a quality instrument.
In conclusion, this guitar has truly become a favourite of mine. It’s easy to play, sounds amazing, and I find myself reaching for it more than my other instruments. Highly recommended!
