Epiphone ES-335 Vintage Sunburst Review
I’ve recently had the pleasure of trying out the Epiphone ES-335 Vintage Sunburst, and I must say, it’s a remarkable instrument for its price. The overall aesthetic is stunning, with a beautiful sunburst finish that truly catches the eye. The guitar arrived in perfect condition, free from any scratches or dents, and the factory setup was impressive right out of the box.
The neck is quite chunky, which might be a concern for those with smaller hands, but I found it surprisingly comfortable to play. The Indian Laurel fretboard is well-finished, with frets that are mostly well-rounded, although a few could use some polishing. The sound produced by the neck pickup is articulate, with great separation between strings, making it a joy for jazz and blues players alike.
However, the bridge pickup leaves something to be desired; it has a slightly tinny sound that might prompt some players to consider an upgrade. The tuners hold the tuning well, which is essential for maintaining stability during performances. I did notice some minor imperfections in the finish and binding, but these are relatively insignificant compared to the quality of sound and playability.
In terms of versatility, this guitar excels, producing warm and punchy tones that cater to a range of musical styles. It’s a fantastic option for anyone looking to capture the essence of a Gibson ES-335 without the hefty price tag. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with the Epiphone ES-335 Vintage Sunburst; it feels and sounds much more premium than its cost suggests. Highly recommended for both beginners and experienced players looking for a reliable backup or a budget-friendly alternative.
