Fender Kotzen Telecaster BSB Review: Reliability check

Customer Review Summary

The Fender Kotzen Telecaster BSB is a remarkable instrument that has captivated many players. The neck is notably thick, often compared to a baseball bat, which may take some getting used to, especially for those accustomed to slimmer profiles. However, once familiarised, it offers a comfortable grip and facilitates smooth playability, making it enjoyable to use over extended periods.

Visually, the guitar boasts an immaculate finish with a stunning maple top that catches the eye. The tonal versatility is impressive, with pickups that deliver a balanced sound suitable for various genres, from funk and blues to rock. Notably, the guitar features a boost function instead of a traditional tone control, allowing for enhanced tonal shaping when both pickups are engaged.

Players have mentioned the overall build quality is solid, yet some have encountered minor issues, such as loose components that required adjustment upon arrival. Nonetheless, the guitar’s sound quality is often praised, providing a rich and dynamic tone that resonates beautifully whether played clean or distorted.

Although there are concerns regarding the absence of a case and the weight of the instrument, which can be cumbersome for some, the artistic collaboration behind this model is evident. It feels like a true reflection of Richie Kotzen’s style, making it a unique addition to any guitarist’s collection.

In summary, the Fender Kotzen Telecaster BSB is not just another Telecaster; it’s a well-crafted, versatile guitar that offers both aesthetic appeal and exceptional sound. It’s highly recommended for players willing to embrace its distinctive features and robust neck.
